Children with Special Needs

"I wouldn't change you for the world, but I would change the world for you"

At One Family Pediatrics, we know that none of the tests, assessments, or progress reports will ever be able to measure just how incredible your child is. We also know how difficult and overwhelming it can be to find valuable resources when you have a child with special needs and we are here to help!

Below are some great resources that we’ve found helpful for our patients — financial help and advice, 504 plans for schools, physician portions of Katie Beckett Forms, and referrals to therapy groups.

And, last of all, Dr. Lavania is RITA-T certified and is able to screen for and diagnose early autism in children between the ages of 1 – 3 yrs old. We are here and always ready to talk!

    • Debbie Dobbs
        • If you have not met Debbie Dobbs, I highly recommend you do! She is a wonderful advocate for children and helps with IEP’s, 504 Plans, Medicaid Waivers, Respite and Funding Options. I attended one of her Katie Beckett Seminars and came back with lots of useful information.
        • She provides a Navigating the Maze handout that is updated regularly. This handout had information about grants, funding, mobility/vehicle funding, educational resources, advocacy, service dogs, sports, airline assistance, wish granting organizations, etc.
